Yorkshire Status: Rare and very local resident.

This is a naturalised adventive species which feeds on juniper and cypresses. The first British record was in 1988 in Essex, and since then it has been gradually moving north and west. It reached Yorkshire in 2018 when one was netted at Armthorpe on 19th July. It next appeared nearby at Rossington on 13/7 and 9/8/2020, and these are currently our only records. Moths were dissected to confirm the identification. These are currently the most northerly records in the country. When is is a little more established, it should be identifiable from a good photo, however if you were having a bad day, you might mistake it for Anarsia innoxiella which is similarly grey and streaky.
