Yorkshire Status: Unknown. No recent record.

We have five records of this rare species. These are as follows:
1858 York - "Several specimens were taken by the Rev. J.D.J Preston on the trunk of willow tree near York" (Ent. Ann. 1858 p106).
1868 Scarborough "larva on willows" - Thomas Wilkinson writing in Theakston's Guide to Scarborough.
7/8/1946 Warthill (A. Smith) - in The Naturalist 72:32.
9/9/1948 Allerthorpe (A. Smith collection).
9/8/1950 Strensall (A. Smith collection).

This is a very elusive species which needs dissection to identify. It is not impossible it is lurking somewhere in the county under the radar. It turned up unexpectedly in Northumberland in 2015, and is occasionally found in Lancashire.
