Yorkshire Status: Rare and local resident.

Some records are of larvae.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Formerly regarded as scarce there has been a considerable increase in records of this moth in recent years and it is now recorded regularly in small numbers throughout vice-counties 61 to 64.

Argus 84, 2018: We had no record of this moth in VC65 although there is a dot shown on the map in MBGBI vol. 4 (1). This has now been traced to the Dent record in 1995; the date is early for the adult so presumably refers to larval spinnings. Now confirmed in all five vice-counties where it is most frequent in the south in vice-counties 61 and 63; occurrences in the north of the county remain few.
