Yorkshire Status: Rare and very local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are old records from all vice-counties except VC61, which are regarded as unconfirmed on map 9 in MBGBI 1. There are recent records from a single locality.

Beaumont, 2002: In 1989 there was only a single confirmed record, further records are: VC61. Skipwith Common, 17 & 23.4.1994 det. HEB (GBS), 7.4.1999 (HEB). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD. VC63. Manvers site, Bolton-on-Dearne, 27.4.1994 (JDC); West Haigh Wood, 3.5.1994 (HEB). VC64. Askham Bog, 19.4.1997 (HEB). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

Argus 47, 2005: VC65. Hutton Conyers, 22.4.2002 (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

2012 (CHF): Less often recorded than many of the other birch-feeding Eriocrania species. The adult is fairly distinctive with prominent transverse striae on the forewing. The larvae mine later than the other Eriocrania species; in June and July.

Recorded in 20 (10%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1859.
Last Recorded in 2023.
