Yorkshire Status: Rare and local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There have been several reports of this moth in recent years, all from low-lying reed-bed areas in the south of the County.

Argus 52, 2006: A further extension of range with a record now in the north of VC64.

VC64. Bishop Monkton, 25.8.2006 (D&DB). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

2012 (CHF): There has been a slight increase in records but this remains an uncommon moth in the county. There has been spread in recent years to the area south of Ripon and to Teesside. On occasions it is said to wander away from reedbeds but usually it is necessary to trap close to reeds to attract it to light.

Argus 78, 2016: A slightly better year for this reed bed specialist but still only scattered records. It has now been recorded in all five vice-counties.

VC65. Nosterfield reed bed, 16.8.2016 (CHF, JCW). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

Recorded in 32 (16%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1920.
Last Recorded in 2023.
