VC64. Fountains Abbey, larvae in leaves of Hart's-tongue fern 28.4.2012, moths reared (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
2013 (CHF): After a gap of 150 years, this species was refound in the north-east of VC62 in 2009 and there have been several subsequent records. It has also been found in VC64. All records have been of mines in hart's-tongue fern though it will also use other fern species at times. The larvae initially mines the frond but is more often located after hibernation when it mines the sporangia under the leaf, making what looks like an untidy displaced sporangium. The black head of the larva distinguishes this species from Psychiodes filicivora.
